A two?stage service restoration method for electric power distribution systems

Improving the reliability of power distribution systems is critically important for both utilities and customers. This calls an efficient service restoration module within a management system to support implementation self-healing smart grid networks. Although emerging technologies, including distributed generators (DGs) remote-controlled switches, enhance capability allow faster recovery, they still pose additional complexity problem, especially under cold load pickup (CLPU) conditions. Herein, novel two-stage framework proposed generate solutions with sequence control actions. The first stage generates plan that supports traditional using feeder reconfiguration grid-forming DG-assisted intentional islanding methods. second optimal switching operations bring outaged quickly final restored configuration. problem formulated as mixed-integer linear program incorporates connectivity, operating constraints, CLPU models.
